Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: February 2026

This policy outlines what you can and cannot build with the eToro Public API. We want developers to build freely — but within guidelines that protect our users and platform.

Allowed

You're free to build any of the following without approval:

  • Personal trading bots and automated strategies
  • Portfolio trackers and performance dashboards
  • Market data integrations (pricing, charts, screeners)
  • AI agents and copilots using the MCP server
  • Social analytics and market intelligence tools
  • Academic research and educational projects
  • Open-source tools for the developer community

Requires Approval

These use cases need prior approval. Apply through the Partner Program:

  • High-volume commercial use (>100k requests/day)
  • White-label integrations embedding eToro data
  • Redistributing or reselling API data to third parties
  • Building products that serve other businesses (B2B)

Prohibited

These are strictly not allowed and will result in immediate API access revocation:

  • Market manipulation, wash trading, or spoofing
  • Scraping beyond published rate limits
  • Building a competing brokerage or trading platform
  • Impersonating eToro or its users
  • Circumventing authentication or security measures
  • Using the API for any illegal activity
  • Storing or sharing other users' personal data

Enforcement

eToro monitors API usage patterns. Violations of this policy may result in rate limiting, temporary suspension, or permanent revocation of API access. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before taking action, except in cases of clear abuse or security threats.

Questions?

Not sure if your use case is allowed? Reach out to api-support@etoro.com. We'd rather help you find the right path than have you guess.

Note: This policy is subject to review by eToro's legal team before launch. Final language may differ.
